During the inauguration of the new Construction Industry Chamber committee in Mexico City, Governor Clara Brugada announced ambitious plans for infrastructure investment, focusing on mobility and housing developments.


New Infrastructure Investment Record Set in Mexico City

The head of government of Mexico City, Clara Brugada, inaugurated the new Executive Committee of the Mexican Chamber of the Construction Industry (CMIC) in the capital. At this event, Brugada announced her intention to establish a record investment in infrastructure and public works during her term to promote prosperity and employment for the benefit of the population.

Brugada emphasized that the main investment of her administration will focus on mobility, with the modernization of the Metro, the construction of five new Cablebus lines, and the development of infrastructure to ensure access to water throughout the city. Additionally, she committed to building more than 200,000 homes and recovering the lakeside area of the city, improving public space, and developing the Public Care System.

The head of government recognized the CMIC as one of the most important business organizations in the country, underlining its significant contribution to national GDP and job creation. She highlighted the importance of working in collaboration with the private sector to maintain the prosperity and economic growth of the city.

Regarding security and transparency in public contracts, Brugada assured that the government is committed to providing a favorable environment for private investment to continue growing. She announced that 10% of public contracts will be allocated to women-led companies to promote their empowerment.

The president of CMIC Mexico City, Ricardo González Lomelí, expressed that the organization is a strategic ally for the city’s growth plans, with the necessary capability and experience to contribute to development. For his part, the national president of CMIC, Luis Méndez Jaled, praised the decision to allocate a significant portion of the budget to infrastructure projects, which will boost the economy, competitiveness, and quality of life for citizens.

The event was attended by various government secretaries, as well as representatives from CMIC and other institutions related to the construction industry.
